PDF to Excel

Art sales list PDFs, as a spreadsheet.

To turn an art sales list PDF into Excel, each artwork has to become one row, with its caption split into columns. Generic converters copy loose text. Vitryne reads each work's image and caption and gives you a spreadsheet: artist, title, year, medium, dimensions, price, availability and a link to the image.

Why not a generic converter

Built for sales lists, not for any PDF.

  • Generic converters see text, not artworks

A PDF-to-Excel tool turns each page into rows of loose text. A sales list needs the opposite: one row per work, with the caption split into the right fields.

  • Every gallery has its own layout

Captions sit beside the image, below it or over it, in a different order each time. Vitryne reads the page the way you do, whatever the design.

  • Images matter as much as captions

Vitryne lifts each artwork's image out of the PDF, without the printed caption on top, and links it from your spreadsheet.

The spreadsheet

One row per work, every field in its column.

Values are copied exactly as the gallery printed them. Dimensions keep both the metric and imperial lines, and the gallery and fair come from the cover of the PDF, so you always know where a work was offered.

More than a conversion

Every PDF you convert stays searchable.

Each preview you add joins one private catalogue. Search across all of them by artist, title, medium or reference, filter by availability, gallery or size, and sort by price. When a client asks, you are one search away, not one inbox away. See how art advisors use it.

Questions

Which PDFs work?

Gallery preview PDFs, art fair sales lists, viewing-room exports and exhibition catalogues: any PDF where each work appears with an image and a caption. Images and screenshots on their own are not supported yet.

What file do I get?

A CSV file with one row per artwork. It opens directly in Excel, Numbers and Google Sheets. You can export a whole catalogue or a filtered selection.

Are prices converted?

No. The price is kept exactly as printed, with its currency in its own column, so nothing is rounded or converted behind your back. If you set your own sale price on a work, it appears alongside the preview price.

Are the images in the spreadsheet?

Each row has an Image URL column linking to that work's image. For a presentation with the images laid out, download a presentation PDF of your selection instead.

Do you keep my files?

Your previews and catalogue are stored privately in Zurich, Switzerland, so you can search them later. They are never used to train AI models, and you can delete them at any time.
